Spain's Guardia Civil to an insult: «we don't like minimalist food»

A Twitter user replied to an official Guardia Civil post with a crude insult — the Spanish equivalent of «eat my balls». The official account took the phrase entirely literally and answered that they don't like minimalist food. The exchange went viral and the author of the insult ended up deleting his account.

«Lo sentimos, no nos gusta la comida minimalista»

The reply is a perfect example of literalism as a weapon: taking the insult's metaphor and treating it as a dinner suggestion defuses the aggression without returning it. There's no counter-insult, no threat, no explicit note of superiority; the work is done by the other party, left holding his own sentence. For an institutional account that matters enormously, because the bar for what it can say is very low and any excess becomes news in itself. And brevity counts: seven words, no trailing remarks, no explaining the joke. The best community manager isn't the one who replies most, but the one who knows when a single line is enough.
